Passing It On

My thanks to a writer who prefers to be anonymous for this

What's the best thing you can pass on to the next generations of dancers? The knowledge? Might help. But I'd choose *the excitement*, that dance is a celebration. That 'you' have the ability to make something out of a few notes and movements together with a bunch of people, some you might know and some you don't, or don't yet... And that next time 'that something' will be a bit different, and in odd measure, maybe better.... That you have the right to experiment, change things, learn, make mistakes, forget, grin from ear to ear. And that this can be done in a form of community... with consideration and the understanding that the others have or will be making the same mistakes as you are ;-) Pass that over and people will sort out 'the knowledge' no problem...
