English Ceilidh (ECeilidh)

Dance to Banter with Caller presented by Stanley Halls

They are rooted in English traditional music but incorporate influences of pop, jazz, soul and big band sounds. Although just three people, they create a huge sound and have been described as the world’s smallest big band. Banter brings songs that are barking social comment with pop beats, irony and ridiculously danceable tunes! With authentic wooden sprung floors, and the Stanley Halls Bar open throughout; expect a night of laughs, great music, and good times to be had by all!

What is "English Ceilidh"? - a quick guide

It's what used to be called 'country dancing' or 'barn dance' but nowadays tends have better, more varied music (often 'folk') and is danced with more energy and skill. A 'caller' explains each dance, walks you through it and paying attention at that point will get even the complete beginner through the dancing
